Mike Nyitray
What’s up everyone. I’m Mike Nyitray, New Jersey born and raised. I’ve been fishing my whole life and hunting since I was 19. Bowhunting is my true passion though. I grew up playing hockey at a high level, but once I stepped away, the woods took over and it hasn’t let go since.
Boondocks Hunting started as a passion and turned into a lifestyle rather quickly. Now, it’s about building something bigger; real hunts, real stories, and a community that lives for the grind.
I spend my entire year in pursuit of something! Whitetails are the obsession. The chess match, the pressure and all the moments you can’t fake. Chasing giant Jersey black bears is just as fun. The adrenaline, the intensity and the unknown all make it all worthwhile. Add waterfowl and turkeys into the mix and it’s a never-ending life of the outdoors.
My favorite place to travel will always be Moosehead Lake, Maine. Growing up spending summers in the big north woods, glassing moose and fishing from sunup to sundown lives in my blood. That’s where it all really locked in and started.
My “True North” is growth — constantly pushing myself, learning from failure, and staying consistent both in the woods and in life in general is what drives me most.
