Lex Elliott
Howdy! I’m Lex Elliott!
I have been hunting my whole life… shot my first deer and my first turkey when I was six years old. I love bass fishing, but I’m not as big of a fisherman as I am a hunter. That being said, I mostly fish stocked ponds. I love to duck hunt mostly because I love to watch my two labs work. There is nothing more rewarding. I have so many memories in the outdoors: The first buck I shot off a ranch that I helped develop, spending opening weekend of dove season every year with my family at the ranch, the first duck that each of my labs retrieved, the time it snowed at the ranch and I shot a limit of drake wigeons in the weather, and the first time I goose hunted and saw a goose tornado in Arkansas. OHHH or gator hunting in South Texas! I’ve been blessed to do a lot of really cool things in this life of mine.
My True North has to be at my family ranch. My dad has developed hunting ranches my whole life, but this is the ranch that I’ve been most active in helping him develop. When we first bought it, it had been over hunted and mismanaged. So, to grow a 150″ deer off it has been amazing. Watching the turkey population grow has been nothing but amazing too. To see multiple coveys of quail on a property that had none at all is extremely rewarding. It’s been a dream come true and an experience I’ll remember forever being able to lend a hand in bringing the natural wildlife back to a piece of property where all the animals had been hunted almost entirely.
