Four photos of hunters with large fish and deer trophies in natural outdoor settings.

Daniel Cowan (Owner/Founder)

Howdy! My name is Daniel (Danny) Cowan. I am a resident of Central Pennsylvania and have
been a multi species hunter and angler for the last eighteen years of my life. I was recently encouraged to pursue and create a company in the outdoor industry after deepening my addiction to and furthering my education in hunting whitetails and turkeys, as well as fishing/guiding for trout, steelhead and salmon for the last thirteen years. It is my honor, and I am beyond proud to announce that I am the owner and founder of True North Woods and Water.

Having gone to college and graduating with a marketing/management degree quite some time ago, I knew I wanted to establish myself in the business world; but not how most people had hoped I would. A cubicle desk job working 9-5 has never and will never be a thing for me. Being in the outdoors at such a young age instilled a sense of adventure in me and the desire to constantly be on the move in some way shape or form. My True North has several definitions depending on the time of year… Whether it’s standing waist deep fishing/guiding in a river in Alaska, New York, Ohio, PA, or Maryland, whether it’s taking my truck out on the beaches of the eastern shore in Delaware or in Florida to surf fish, whether it’s hanging twenty feet closer to God with a bow in my hand trying to outsmart whitetails in the public land big woods across a plethora of states, or as simple as sitting by a fire with family and friends sharing every outdoor story that we possibly can. My love and respect for the outdoors as a whole grows year after year and I’m so grateful to share the same addiction with all with you.

I encourage all of you to make it a goal to experience something new and explore a new place at some point in this short life we are given. I have made it my priority to provide every hunter and angler around the country a database and platform that they can use to their own personal advantage, however they see fit. Patience is a virtue anywhere in the outdoors, so please be patient with us as we continue to add information and businesses from across the nation to our website every week, as we tweak certain aspects of our company, and as we work to get any merchandise orders out as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you ever have any comments, questions, or concerns, please send us an email or shoot us a message on either of our social media handles and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as we can. For now, I would like to personally thank each and every one of you from all of us here at True North Woods and Water.
